I imagine a Dremel with the little sanding drum would fix that, though. Thanks! I didn't have the issue with the tang, I just took a very small amount off of the sides where it enters the receiver, and it fit. Strange since these stocks are cut for Romanian guns, but my stock goes in except for the upper tang. What did you use for that? I figured I would need to shave some wood from the stock since the recievers are thicker on Norincos but I think it will fit once I lengthen the tang groove on top. the channel cut into the wood isnt long enough for the tang. just got my set today and I could not for the life of me get the upper handguard to turn into the housing, was yours very tight ? Also did you use the metal clip that fits into the lower handguard? I also noticed that the stock will need some fitting to the top tang. You said the upper handguard didnt require any fitting. The pistol grip seems to fill the hand better than the Ironwood, we both noticed.Īll in all, I'm happy with it, but if I weren't in a hurry at the time I probably would've gotten the Ironwood and finished it the way I wanted. A friend of mine has the Ironwood set on his Norinco, and I'd say this one compares nicely. Upper handguard and pistol grip required no fitting at all. On the buttstock, barely had to remove anything for it to fit nicely. Had to remove a fair amount of wood there. the gap between the bottom of the trunnion and the receiver is smaller in the MAK 90 than the Romanian AKs that the Timbersmith stock sets were designed for. The vast majority of the fitting work involved the lower handguard. Luckily, I'm comfortable with a bit of woodwork.
